About Lake Forest Park, WA
Lake Forest Park is a suburb of Seattle, Washington, United States, located northeast of the city. It was established in the early twentieth century as a bedroom neighborhood with single-family homes on medium-to-large lots. Less than 4% of the city’s land is classified commercial, the majority of which is concentrated in a single place, and there are no industrial zones. The city is located northwest of Seattle on State Route 522, which connects to Seattle and Bothell. Lake Forest Park is comprised of various parks and natural reserves, as well as access to the Burke–Gilman Trail and summer events. At the 2010 census, the city’s population was 12,598.
Lake Forest Park is located near the lake’s northern end. The southern boundary of the city begins at the Seattle city limits. To the north, the park stops at the Snohomish county line, where it is bounded by the municipalities of Mountlake Terrace and Brier. To the east, the city is surrounded by Lake Washington and the city of Kenmore at 55th Avenue NE; the Burke-Gilman Trail runs parallel to the lake coast, following the shoreline north through Kenmore and south into Seattle. The city’s western boundary is located in the city limits of Shoreline, primarily along 25th Avenue NE.
The Lake Forest Park Town Center serves as the commercial heart of the city. The public library, police station, city hall, and around 40 stores, small businesses, and medical/professional offices are all located in this single complex. Third Place Commons is a vast public space that takes up the majority of the upper level of the central building. This same complex also hosts a sizable outdoor farmer’s market during the summer. Until late 2007, the community was also served by a finance unit post office located within the same complex, which has since been relocated to nearby Shoreline. Additionally, the Town Center housed Shoreline Community College’s Lake Forest Park satellite campus, which has since closed. (Source: Wikipedia)
